Borough Assembly members agreed to look into the possibility of conducting a Fourth of July fireworks display along with the Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber has been in contact with a pyrotechnician from California who hopes to get his Alaska license in order to present the fireworks in Skagway.
Assemblyman Steve Burnham Jr. said the cost of $10,000 seemed a bit steep considering Jeff Hamilton currently puts on a 30 to 45 minute show.
“I think Jeff does a fine job, but how long is he going to do it?” Assemblywoman Angela Grieser said.
The Chamber spoke with the technician about splitting the cost with Haines. The Borough Assembly said they should look into it further and report back with more information
