A seasonal distillery license for Skagway Spirits LLC was approved during a Nov. 5 borough assembly meeting.

The proposed distillery, owned by Gary Heger, will be located in the Industrial Light zone in the hangar building at 941 Alaska Street.

“They will be producing bottled liquor,” Assemblyman Spencer Morgan said.

The conditional use permit was approved by Planning and Zoning on July 23 to allow the hangar to be used for processing, storage, wholesaling and distribution of distilled spirits.

Borough Assembly members offered no objection to the license.
