Thank you to everyone who helped and attended the Lance Mackey Medical Fundraiser. Thank you!

I’m so grateful and honored that Lance Mackey was able to attend this event. Lance Mackey had stage-four cancer and later won four Iditarod and four Yukon Quest Sled Dog races in a row. No one has done that in dog mushing history. Lance is truly the Champ of Champions. Due to his medical conditions, he had to withdraw from the 2017 Iditarod.

I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for helping with this fundraiser: Judy Mallory from Mile Zero B&B for the accommodations; Kari Rain and Jean Worley for the delicious cookies; Ray Tsang for the great posters; Larry Gupton, Barb Brodersen, Wayne Selmer, Alice Sorrell, and The Farmers Market. A big “thank you” to the municipality of Skagway, the city of Juneau, the Eagles, and to Niccole McCabe of the Super 8 in Juneau.

Thank you all so much to everyone who came to watch the movie, “The Great Alone,” starring Lance Mackey, and to those who donated to his medical fund. Lance was truly humbled and grateful by the generosity of our Skagway friends. It was a blessing having him share this wonderful event with all of us.             Thank you again and again, everyone, from the bottom of my heart for all your LOVE and help. What a fun weekend! I love living in Skagway with all you wonderful people!

May GOD Bless you all,

Cindy Godbey
