A call to the Skagway Emergency Dispatch was received at approximately 11 a.m. on Aug. 9 reporting that a Unimog passenger touring vehicle had went off a road at the Alaska Excursions Dog Camp at 10 Mile Dyea Road.

According to a press release from the municipality, Skagway Volunteer Fire Department and emergency medical services volunteers responded to the site where, with the assistance of Alaska Excursions and National Park Service personnel, 28 persons were treated and transported to the Dahl Memorial Clinic, of which 25 were treated and released, and 3 were airlifted for further treatment.
