IS HEREBY GIVEN of a breach of obligations made relating to land known as Kal’s Landing (the Property) on Dyea Point in Skagway, Alaska

During August, 2013, Obligor placed a boat, trailer and building (the Items) on the Property without permission of the Owner of Record. On August 13, 2013, an agreement was reached between Obligor and Owner of Record regarding the storage of the items on the Property, that said storage was temporary and the Items would be removed within a year. Obligor subsequently left the Skagway area without making appropriate arrangements for removal of the Items that remained on the Property, thereby abandoning them. Despite numerous attempts to reach Obligor to facilitate removal of the items since 2014, including two certified letters, no response has been received.

TAKE NOTICE that on October 30, 2017, the Items stored on the Property will be considered abandoned and disposed of.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS-HISTORICAL BUILDING LEASE OPPORTUNITY

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Skagway, Alaska

The National Park Service (NPS) seeks proposals for a new lease opportunity for the historic Boas Tailor and Furrier Building located in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Skagway Alaska. Starting July 31, 2017 a request for proposals (RFP) for this building is available on the Internet at:  https://www.nps.gov/klgo/getinvolved/historicleasing.htm or upon request from the park offices.

The building is a two-story wood frame, historic commercial structure originally dating from the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. The building is restored and reconstructed and has had the interior spaces remodeled appropriate to the historic period of significance.  Proposals to lease at a minimum of 5 years and as long as 10 years will be considered.  Reference the request for proposal for details on lease beginning dates.  Food or beverage preparation or service, and public overnight accommodation uses are not compatible with the design of, and preservation goals for, this building.  Arcades, the sale of alcohol or tobacco products, and entertainment inappropriate for a family audience are also unacceptable.  Proposals for such uses will not be considered.  Proposers must accept the interior floor, wall, ceiling, and general lighting treatments “as-is” and without further modification.  Other limitations on uses apply.

The Boas Building is located at 264 Broadway, Skagway, Alaska.  It has 21 feet of store front and approximately 1,534 square feet on two floors (1st floor is approximately 715 SF and 2nd floor is approximately 819 SF).

Minimum annual rent is $57,200.00
