Skagway Public Library has long been more than just a place to check out a book or movie. You can borrow a guitar or LCD projector, use your library account to access Mango for online language learning and even submit your passport application here. Now you can pump up your bike tires or adjust your brakes and derailleurs at the library!  Sockeye Cycle made a very generous donation to help with the cost of the service station as well as ordering the stand and air pump for the library. The Library Board voted to pay the remaining cost to purchase the Dero Fixit Station from the library Special Projects fund. The Special Projects Fund has been used in the past for such things as providing scholarships to students attending the Sitka Fine Arts Camp and to purchase the children’s Story Time rug.

Watch for more cooperative projects between the library and community-minded organizations such as Sockeye Cycle to provide programs and projects that enhance services to the community as we move towards celebrating the library’s 100th birthday in 2020.
