The end of the 2018 Summer Season is just around the corner. Many business owners will soon be closing up shop until spring. As things wrap up for the year, the Skagway Convention & Visitors Bureau asked store owners in a recent newsletter to bear in mind that – even if they are not in town – their business is still represented in Skagway and that the appearance of those businesses “greatly affects the vitality of our winter business district.”

“In an effort to improve Broadway’s wintertime appearance, we are excited to launch our Second Annual Winter Windows Project!” the newsletter said. “Historic photos, maps and display panels will be available to decorate your business windows. If you are interested in borrowing a display for the winter, please contact us. Displays are available on a first come, first serve basis.

“Over 1,100 residents spend the winter in Skagway. We also have wintertime visitors from the region and around the world who come to enjoy our area in the off season. We thank you for your efforts in making Skagway a vibrant, year-round community!”
