In Alaska, he  worked as Bristol Bay borough manager from 2011 to 2013 and assistant city manager in Unalaska from 2013 to 2015. He has also held administration jobs in Michigan, including a county administrator position in Wexford County. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from Western Michigan University.

Randy Robertson has served as the city manager in Aberdeen, Maryland, since 2016. He served as city manager in Cordova for two years, as well as various management roles in Vestavia Hills, Alabama; Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; and Ashland, Kentucky, according to the Baltimore Sun.
