Borough manager moving to Rifle, CO

Borough Manager Scott Hahn will soon be departing for a city manager position in the town of Rifle, Colorado – a move that will end his four-year tenure in Skagway.

Fiscal Year 2019 Budget approved on third reading

Skagway’s municipal budget for Fiscal Year 2019 was approved by the Borough Assembly on June 21; it included money for a number of heavily-debated community funding requests, as well as capital improvement projects like the Molly Walsh Restroom expansion, incinerator control upgrades and a new garbage truck.

Tony Thole wins Spirit of the Yukon Award for 20th River Quest

Awards for the 2018 Yukon River Quest were distributed at a banquet on the eve of Saturday, June 30, with Tony Thole wrangling the Spirit of the Yukon Award for rescuing a literal boatload of valuables from the currents of the Yukon River.
