Marjorie Newell

Marjorie (Marj) Newell started her journey on June 20, 1930. Her parents, Frank and Flo Geller, were former teachers who homesteaded a ranch near Dalton, Nebraska. Marj was the youngest of five siblings: Lucille, Roger, Robert, Charles and herself. Only Robert Geller of Fort Collins, Colorado survives.

Perfectly polar bears at the Skagway Library

In honor of International Polar Bear Day, the Skagway Library held an event for local children. The library held a Skype call with the Alaska Zoo so the children could see polar bears live on camera and ask questions of zoo staff.
