The municipality has a new procedure for distribution of monthly Emergency Assistance & Economic Stimulus (EAES) payments. Checks are no longer being mailed out and in-person pickup with ID is required.

Pickup will occur from Aug. 19 through Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the last name of the primary applicant.

Last names A-H:

Wednesday, Aug. 19

Last name I-P:

Thursday, Aug. 20

Last name Q-Z:

Friday, Aug. 21

Upon arrival at City Hall on the assigned day, the primary applicant should text their full name to 907-612-0623. Participants are asked to wait in their car if others are being helped and to avoid forming lines. City Hall will be locked and social distancing should be maintained. Applicants will show their ID and pick up their check from a table. There will be no person-to-person contact.

According to the municipality, “Alternative arrangements can be made if the applicant is unable to pick up checks on their scheduled day.” The program administrator can be reached at or 907-983-2297.

August’s payment, $500, is half the usual amount in an effort to keep the program funded through December. September’s checks are expected to be $1,000 per qualified resident.
