The Skagway School Drama, Debate and Forensics team took their performance prowess to the State DDF Tournament in Anchorage, Feb. 27 – March 1.
Skagway has been a regional powerhouse this season, with the Reader’s Theater (RT) team making finals in nearly every tournament.
This statewide quartet of Evelyn Borst, Lina Hischer, Sam Munson and Mina Yee proved their game by taking first place in the state.
Hischer and Yee took third in Duo Interpretation of Literature with a montage of Sylvia Plath poetry. Borst placed seventh in Informative Speaking.
Kaylee Salazar finished sixth place in Extemporaneous Commentary and seventh in Dramatic Interpretation of Literature.
When the numbers fell in place, Skagway placed third in the Sweepstakes for 1a, 2a and 3a schools.
