On behalf of the Skagway Arts Council I would like to thank all the people who came out to support the Chris Maggio Scholarship Fund at our Music in the Park on August 19.
Jason Feddy, the musician that was the main attraction gave an amazing show and it is music like this that comes to Skagway only through the joint efforts of so many.
I would like to thank Sgt. Preston’s Lodge, Bites on Broadway, Klondike Brewery, SMART bus, the Emblem Club, The Skagway News, KHNS, Brewco, Temsco and Alaska360 for all of their contributions. Big Scott and Andy Reimer provided all the sound assistance we needed.
Our young performers, Adalia Deach, Tatum Sager, Rosetta Hitt and Zach Wassman were a delightful opening, with Andrew Nadon doing his usual great job as emcee.
The people that ran the beer garden, activities for children, admissions, set up, clean up – all too numerous to thank, but who are all personally thanked by the town should take a bow.
And of course, the Arts Council board members who put so much energy into bringing the arts to our town.
A special nod to Denise Caposey for her inspiration and assistance and to God for providing the best weather we have ever had!
