Sept. 13, 1989 – March 26, 2022

Haley Michele Rostron was born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, Sept. 13, 1989. From her first moments on earth until her unexpected death in Bellingham, Washington on March 26, 2022, she was a force to be reckoned with – strong, passionate and eternally empathetic.

Her early years were spent in Skagway and Haines, Alaska. In 2002, she moved with her family to Bellingham. After high school she began her medical career working with animals in a highly respected Bellingham veterinary clinic, then followed her passion for healing by attaining her CNA and working in nursing homes. In 2021, she enrolled in the RN program at Bellingham Technical College, where she made the dean’s list.

In 2014, Haley married Brendan Gardner, with whom she shared her incredible love for music, travel and adventure. Her taste in music spanned generations and genres. She shared this love with friends and family throughout her life, attending countless concerts, starting with her first, Brian Wilson – perhaps her favorite.

She leaves behind, far too soon, husband Brendan Gardner, parents Lisa and Michael Rostron, sister Lesley Rostron and niece Sailor Morris, as well as many relatives and friends from all over. As the lyrics from one of her favorite songs go; she will always be  “…a melody softly soaring through our atmosphere.”

A celebration of Haley’s life is planned for June 12 in Bellingham. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to your favorite animal charity.
