Aug. 10 – 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles #25 is celebrating Skagway’s first “Children’s Day” Saturday, Aug.10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shoreline Park. The event is free to the public, and all ages are welcome.
There will be burgers and hot dogs on the grill, along with side dishes and pizza provided by local Skagway restaurants.
Kites will be provided for the children, and face painting is available. The Skagway Fire Department will be offering fire truck and ambulance tours as well.
This event was inspired by the opportunity to win a $3,000 grant from the Eagle’s Children’s Day fund. The winner of this grant must present the money to an organization of their choice. If this proves to be a success, FOE #25 could potentially make Children’s Day into an annual event.
